We need investment that works for people
September 16, 2026
QUEEN'S PARK — Schreiner released the following statement responding to Ford’s support of the federal plan to open up Pearson Airport to privatization.
“In the midst of an unprecedented trade war and affordability crisis, Ontario needs investments that work for everyday people by creating jobs from new developments, not line the pockets of the rich by selling off public goods.
Privatizing Ontario airports will line the pockets of rich investors while making air travel even more expensive and doing nothing to create good jobs for Ontarians.
Ontarians deserve a Premier that will fight for them.
Premier Ford should be looking for opportunities that will create good, generational jobs in Ontario–not looking for new ways to sell off our public infrastructure.
Ford’s priorities are completely out of touch with everyday people. People are struggling to make rent, afford groceries or put money aside for the future. Ontario Greens are calling on this government to get its priorities straight and put people first.”
