Ford government further privatizing Ontario healthcare

QUEEN'S PARK — Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to news that the Ford government is issuing additional licenses for private surgical clinics to perform MRI and CT scans.
“Further privatization of Ontario’s public healthcare system will only lead to higher costs and poorer care.
Ontarians should never have to pull out their credit card to access basic healthcare. But that has become the reality for far too many as the Ford government continues to sell off our public system to benefit wealthy insiders at our expense.
They need this government to invest in a strong public healthcare system that puts people before profits.
Greens reaffirm our call on the Ford government to repeal Bill 60 and invest in publicly funded, publicly delivered healthcare that prioritizes patient care.”
