Provincial Executive Elections

Every year the party holds internal elections for our governing Provincial Executive (PE). The PE is responsible for the Green Party of Ontario’s governance, similar to a board of directors, and sets the strategic goals, annual plan and budget for the party.

Voting closes on November 27th and successful candidates will be announced on November 30th, 2026.

Note that elected pairs of regional representatives will be of different gender identities.*

* As an organization, we value diversity and want to ensure that the voices on our Provincial Executive reflect those of our amazing membership. For this reason, wherever two representatives are elected for a given role (e.g. regional reps or YGO co-chairs), we require that the two representatives be of different genders.

How To Vote

Online voting will open on Friday, November 6th, 2026 and ends Friday, November 27th, 2026 at 5pm EST. Mail in ballots must also be received at the GPO office by Friday, November 27th, 2026 at 5pm EST.*

You must be a GPO member in good standing to vote for the Provincial Executive. If you are not currently a member, you must join or renew your membership by Friday, November 13th, 2026 in order to be eligible to vote!

Meet the Candidates

Secretary

Victoria Jewt

I was born and raised in Toronto, and have lived near the Rouge Watershed for the majority of my life. I work full-time and I volunteer my time in Toronto, and I am running for the Secretary role, because I feel that the Green Party of Ontario’s platform aligns with my own beliefs. I feel that the GPO is very conscious of the social, environmental, and political issues we have in Ontario, and I am looking to get more involved in any way that I can.


I take the meeting minutes for other groups that I’m involved in, including the Parent Council at my son’s school and a local resident-led, civic engagement group. I would enjoy being the Secretary for the Provincial Executive with the GPO as well.

Northern

Colton Chaput

I was born and raised in North Bay and currently live in Sudbury. I’m an RN and a first year medical student. I believe that my unique blend of Northern Ontario living, healthcare background and Francophone culture will be an important asset to the Provincial Executive.

I’m passionate about advocating for green policies in healthcare and learning more about the impact of climate on health. I strive for continuous improvement and love working to find creative green solutions in resource-starved organizations.

As a passionate francophone, I’m no stranger to fighting for my community. During my undergrad, I fought hard against cuts to bilingual services at uOttawa, winning some pivotal battles with the support of our student body. As a member of the Francophone Affairs Caucus, I advocate for further bilingualism policies within the GPO.

My goals for the term would be to stay grounded in green policy while expanding the conversation to fight for better funding and access to our healthcare system. I would continue to work with the GPO team to create resources for volunteers and candidates to run bilingual campaigns in their communities. Lastly, I vow to listen to the members and to remain open to being educated.

Arleigh Luckett

Arleigh Luckett has served on the Provincial Executive since 2013. She brings a wealth of relevant experience to the council table. From 2018 -2023 she was President of the Parry Sound-Muskoka Constituency Association – part of the team that laid the ground work for Matt Richter’s second place finish.

In her 20 year career working for provincially funded social service agencies she gained insight from many points of view on both sides of the bargaining table first as front line staff and president of an OPSEU local and eventually as Manager of Information Systems and Human Resources.

Arleigh is a dedicated environmentalist. She moved to Muskoka over 50 years ago as part of the “back to the land” movement. She and her partner built their own home – a geodesic dome. Though they have moved into town, they continue to be avid organic vegetable gardeners. With their daughters and their daughters’ families they continue to produce maple syrup every spring on their original 100 acres.

Kyle Hutton

Kyle is a longtime Burlington resident and local activist with a passion for policy, politics, and people. Since his first election in 2008, Kyle has been a keen advocate for better climate policy at every level of government, pushing for stronger policy action from parties, candidates, and incumbents regardless of affiliation – because there’s no patience for labels and partisanship when it comes to solving the climate crisis.

Since becoming a member in 2019, Kyle has twice represented the Ontario Greens on the ballot in Halton Region, working hard to get the message out at the doorsteps. As someone who works with data, Kyle understands the insights and advantage a good data ground game can give to even the smallest of campaigns. He believes Greens can and should compete with the establishment parties, and stand tall on our shared values of social justice, equity, and community-centered change.

Lucia Iannantuono

Lucia Iannantuono is an active member of the Hamilton Region Greens and is currently serving as a Horseshoe Region representative on the GPO Provincial Executive. In addition to her volunteer role on the PE, Lucia has volunteered with the GPO Policy Committee, helped organize the most recent convention in Hamilton, has run twice as a candidate in Hamilton Centre, and volunteered as CFO for Hamilton East – Stoney Creek in this year’s by-election.

Lucia has gotten to know the GPO staff and members across the province over the last few years, has helped to create a regional co-operation model among Hamilton ridings inspired by Ottawa and Waterloo regions, and is a strong supporter of member-led GPO caucuses. Beyond the GPO, Lucia is an environmental advocate with other citizen groups in Hamilton including Hamilton 350 and Environment Hamilton. And beyond volunteer advocacy, Lucia works in electrical engineering, spends time with her family and friends, and always wants to be outside in nature.

Young Greens

Courtney Kathleen Martin

Courtney Martin is a Toronto-born and raised advocate. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences in Political Science, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of Ottawa, and completed a Paralegal Post-Graduate Certificate at Humber Polytechnic. She will write her paralegal licensing exam in February and is currently enrolled in the Public Administration and Leadership certificate program at Toronto Metropolitan University’s Chang School, building her expertise in public policy and public-sector leadership.

A longtime volunteer with the Green Party of Ontario, Courtney serves as Youth Co-Chair and sits on the Provincial Executive, where she works alongside politicians, public servants, agency members, and community leaders. She has represented the Green Party in the Ontario Model Parliament and is working to create a constitution for Young Green members, giving the Young Greens a lasting, democratic foundation. She believes meaningful change starts with youth, and is committed to justice, accountability, and equitable governance.

Jaycob Jacques

My name is Jaycob Jacques, and I am currently a student at the University of Ottawa. I find joy in simple pleasures such as crochet, reading, volunteer work, and gardening. Having lived in social housing, I have experienced the strong sense of community that planned housing can foster, solidifying my belief in the importance of ensuring affordable housing.

Growing up in a francophone family in Sudbury, Ontario, I learned the importance of accessible French education and services, through my school and work with ACFO. I was deeply influenced by my mother, a career ICU nurse, and my grandmother, a primary school teacher, who both exemplified humility and community care. They sparked my interest in the caregiving profession and inspired me to support and advocate for these dedicated professionals, who are key to equitable and accessible health services.

My hometown, once called the “moonscape” due to its barren and empty landscapes caused by years of acid rain and environmental mismanagement, is now a basin of environmental wisdom. Years of reforestation and efforts to promote biodiversity have transformed it into a thriving example of environmental recovery, from which I draw my green roots.
