Schreiner: Doug Ford doesn’t listen

QUEEN'S PARK — Schreiner released the following statement responding to the Ford government’s recent legislation that would allow them to take over Billy Bishop Airport:

“Doug Ford doesn’t listen.

He’s bypassing local decision making and snatching a beloved community park from Torontonians for an airport expansion that nobody asked for. All to benefit himself and wealthy, well-connected insiders.

The Premier doesn’t care if his reckless airport plans hurt local communities, air quality or the environment. He doesn’t care if residents’ elected representatives already voted NO to this plan because their communities told them they don’t want this.

In Doug Ford’s Ontario it’s Ford first, people last. 

This government is completely out of touch with everyday people. While Ford dumps taxpayer dollars into vanity projects in the GTA, people across Ontario are struggling to make rent and afford groceries.

Ontario Greens are calling on this government to put people first and cancel this reckless, expensive and anti-democratic airport expansion.”
