Doug Ford is out of touch and failing everyday Ontarians

QUEEN'S PARK — Mike Schreiner released the following statement responding to Ford’s plans to declare Billy Bishop Airport a special economic zone:

“Doug Ford is making Billy Bishop a no-law zone because he doesn’t care if his reckless airport plans hurt local communities, air quality or the environment.

This move throws responsible planning out the window to benefit well-connected developers. It sidelines local democracy and harms Toronto’s waterfront.

Ford’s priorities are completely out of touch with everyday people. People are struggling to make rent, afford groceries or put money aside for the future. Now more than ever, this government should be investing in the things that will make life easier and more affordable. 

Instead, the Premier is pouring taxpayer dollars into projects that will do nothing to improve the lives of everyday Ontarians. 

Ontario Greens are calling on this government to put people first. No more vanity projects in downtown Toronto. It’s time to actually build affordable homes, fix our broken healthcare system and invest in public education and shrinking student debt.”
