Marchand outlines her priorities for Hamilton East–Stoney Creek
August 12, 2026
HAMILTON — Ontario Greens’ candidate for Hamilton East–Stoney Creek Pascale Marchand released the following statement outlining her priorities for the riding.
“This election is an opportunity to send a clear message to Doug Ford and to all politicians: the status quo isn’t working. We’re tired of the same old election cycles that make big promises but don’t deliver real change.
I believe in putting people over profits to build communities where everyone has what they need—not just to get by, but to thrive.
As your MPP, I promise to work hard every day to make your life better, just like I’ve done during my time working in the Ward 4 office.
I will fight for clean air and water in our communities by:
- Calling on this government to investigate and put a stop to the black soot that blankets our community
- Fighting for a moratorium on all new AI data centre development
- Advocating for faster, cheaper and more sustainable transportation options, from public transit to bike share
I will advocate to make homes more affordable by:
- Pushing for stronger protections for renters, including real rent control
- Protecting prime farmland by stopping sprawl and building more homes in existing neighbourhoods
- Fighting for a housing-first approach to ending homelessness
I will advocate for our government to invest in communities, not corporate profits by:
- Fighting for publicly funded, publicly delivered healthcare and more doctors, nurses and PSWs
- Working to reverse the Ford government’s cuts to education so we can have smaller class sizes, hire more support staff and repair run-down and vacant schools
- Calling out the Ford government’s pattern of corporate handouts to well-connected developers and PC donors
In this by-election, we don’t have to compromise. Let’s build a Hamilton East–Stoney Creek that reflects our values: courage, determination and fairness.”
