Ford’s plan for more cars, fewer homes.

QUEEN'S PARK — Mike Schreiner responds to the government’s announcement that they have issued an RFP to extend Highway 410 to connect it to the future Highway 413:

“Despite the affordability crisis facing Ontarians right now, the Premier is bulldozing ahead with his reckless and costly Highway 413 plan that will do nothing to solve gridlock.

Experts have warned that this highway will only fuel more sprawl, more congestion and more pollution, while destroying the wetlands that protect us from flooding and the farmland that feeds us.

If the Premier were serious about tackling congestion, he’d expand access to public transit, and build more types of homes that people can afford in the communities they love close to work and family. 

It’s time for Doug Ford to abandon Highway 413 and invest in solutions that will actually reduce gridlock and make life more affordable while safeguarding the nature that protects us and the farmland that feeds us.”
