Ontario Greens nominate full slate of 124 candidates

Today, Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner announced that his party has nominated a full slate of 124 candidates ahead of the June 2nd election.

TORONTO — Today, Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner announced that his party has nominated a full slate of 124 candidates ahead of the June 2nd election.

“We have such a talented, diverse group of candidates from across the province,” Schreiner said. “Our candidates look and think like the people and communities they represent.”

76% of the 124 Ontario Greens candidates are from equity-deserving groups.

  • 56% are women or gender diverse
  • 23% are racialized, First Nations, Métis or Inuk (Inuit)
  • 8% are people with disabilities
  • 13% are 2SLGBTQIA+

“It’s clear we need more Green voices at Queen’s Park,” Schreiner said. “Look at how much impact just one Green MPP has had — imagine what more could do.”

“I’m looking forward to having these amazing candidates by my side as I continue meeting with communities across the province and talk about real Green solutions to the challenges people are facing.”

“With this talented roster of candidates, it’s clear that Greens have the leadership we need to build the Ontario you want.”
