Science shouldn't be muddled by politics

QUEEN'S PARK — Mike Schreiner made the following statement in response to news that the Science Table will be folded into Public Health Ontario:

“I’m concerned that this move could limit the independence of the Science Table, which has been an important voice throughout the pandemic.

We can’t have science being muddled by politics, there’s too much on the line.

I ask the Premier to explain his reasons for taking this step. Ontarians deserve transparency.

And they deserve independent science based recommendations they can trust.”
