TORONTO — The Green Party of Ontario is proud to announce that Bonnie North has been nominated as its candidate for the Barrie-Innisfil riding ahead of the 2022 provincial election. She previously ran as a candidate in the 2018 election.

Passionate about local food, food literacy and food security, Bonnie is a founding board member of Barrie’s Urban Pantry, and serves on multiple working groups for the Simcoe County Food Council.

“Raising my son Gary sharply focused my awareness of the world he would be inheriting,” Bonnie said. “I am concerned about the increasingly ineffective and corrosive policies practiced by the political status quo.”

“I want to ensure my son inherits a livable planet. And to create that kind of future we need genuine compassion for the people and places we love. The kind of compassion that the Green Party embodies.”

Bonnie is dedicated to helping Ontarians achieve sustainable lifestyles that are safe and healthy for both themselves and the planet.

“Bonnie’s passion for local food systems and sustainable living makes her a very strong addition to our team for 2022,” said Mike Schreiner, Leader of the Green Party of Ontario.

“She is deeply involved in her local community and she is such a great example of what the Green Party is all about: building a better world for people and the planet.”
