Ford is leaving schools and parents to fend for themselves

December 14, 2020

The writings on the wall - Doug Ford and Minister Lecce have left schools and parents to fend for themselves.

TORONTO — Mike Schreiner released the following statement in relation to growing COVID-19 cases in Ontario schools:

“As more Ontario schools shut down due to COVID-19 outbreaks, other school boards are making unilateral decisions on whether to close for an extended holiday break.

The writings on the wall – Doug Ford and Minister Lecce have left schools and parents to fend for themselves.

The Ford government has consistently lacked a coherent pandemic plan for the second wave.

Capping class sizes at 15 kids – as promised – has never been more important in safeguarding the health of our children.

There is still time to act, but with many things, Doug Ford seems to lack the political will.

The Ford government has the opportunity to start the new year with a school strategy that puts our children’s health first by capping class sizes and providing the funding that school boards need to retrofit their schools.”
