Mike Schreiner statement on nooses found at Toronto construction site

QUEEN’S PARK — Mike Schreiner released the following statement after two more nooses were found at a Toronto construction site:

“These incidents make me incredibly angry because they show just how pervasive the problem of systemic racism is in our society.

I am so sorry to every employee who had to witness this vile act of racism and to Black employees across Ontario who experience racism every day in the workplace.

It is so deeply unfair that racialized individuals cannot feel safe on the job and we must do everything we can to eliminate racism from workplaces and everywhere in Ontario.”
