Mike Schreiner’s statement on the beginning of Eid-al-Adha

QUEEN'S PARK — Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner released the following statement to mark Eid-al-Adha:

“On behalf of the Ontario Greens, I want to extend best wishes to all those who are marking the Day of Arafah today before Eid al-Adha celebrations begin.

Over the next few days, Muslims around the world gather for prayer and celebration with family, friends and neighbours to mark the end of the Hajj – an annual pilgrimage to the Kaaba in Mecca.

The central tenants of Eid al-Adha are values we can all strive toward – generosity, forgiveness and compassion. 

May we all heed the central tenants of this holy day by practicing kindness, peace and charity to those around us in our daily lives.

On behalf of the Ontario Greens, I wish everyone a joyful celebration.
