Ford government keeps meddling in judicial system

GUELPH — Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to news that a former PC party vice-president has been appointed as a judge of the Ontario Court of Justice.
“For years, the Ford government has used the public purse to dole out prestigious appointments to well-connected insiders.
This dangerous politicisation of the judicial process erodes public trust in the justice system, our democracy and the government itself.
Judges should be appointed to apply the law, not to do the Premier’s bidding.”
