|Stacey Leadbetter is a 54 year old woman who has lived in Whitby for 29 years. She raised her children in Whitby and is extremely proud of them and their accomplishments. Stacey enjoyed a long career in the legal field as a litigation Law Clerk. She has taught at Durham College and currently manages two not-for-profit housing complexes in Durham Region.
Ms Leadbetter is an activist for access to mental health care, the elimination of poverty, women’s rights and the environment.
Stacey Leadbetter currently is Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Distress Centre Durham and chairs of the Marketing Committee. Ms. Leadbetter was elected to the Green Party of Canada’s Federal Council in 2012 and 2015 and was the Ontario Representative.
Stacey has, over the years, worked with agencies concerned with the status of women and the elimination of poverty. Stacey sat on the Board of Directors for The Denise House/Sedna Women’s Shelter in Oshawa, where she chaired the Board Development and Board-Staff relations committees.
