Show Us the Bill: Investigate the True Cost of Highway 413

We have written to the Financial Accountability Officer requesting a comprehensive economic analysis and cost accounting of Highway 413. But, we need your help to amplify our voice and demand a full financial review of the Ford government’s hidden backroom highway.

Highway 413 was estimated at over $4 billion back in 2019. Seven years of skyrocketing construction costs later, the Ford government still refuses to release an updated number, hiding a total price tag now estimated to exceed $10 billion. This reckless project will consume almost 5,000 acres of prime farmland, forests, and wetlands—an area equivalent to Bigwind Provincial Park near Bracebridge.

Instead of building this highway, we can implement practical, cost-effective alternatives like prioritizing public transit and optimizing Highway 407 for truck traffic. Together, we can stop them from writing a blank cheque for developer sprawl.
