That’s because back in the spring, Doug Ford quietly pushed back the return to Queen’s Park – delaying it by six full weeks.

This week, MPPs should have returned to the Legislature to get back to work for Ontarians.

But Doug Ford and his Cabinet are still off the job.

I’m writing to express my concern that the Ontario Legislature still hasn’t returned from summer recess despite the fact that MPPs should have gone back to Queen’s Park this week. Back in the spring, your government quietly extended the Legislature’s break by six weeks. That means Ontarians are still without the full representation, transparency and accountability they deserve. This decision to delay the return to work comes at a time when Ontarians are facing: - An urgent housing and homelessness crisis - The destruction of farmland and green space for sprawl development - Worsening climate impacts - Attacks on local democracy and public services We need leadership that shows up. I’m calling on you to: - Reopen Queen’s Park and return to work immediately - Commit to full accountability and transparency in your government’s decision-making - Take real action on housing, affordability and the climate crisis Ontarians are doing their part. We expect our government to do the same. It’s time to get back to work.
