I am writing to demand that you lower electricity prices and create jobs by ending the bias against renewable energy. With 700,000 Ontarians unemployed and electricity costs rising by 29 per cent, we cannot afford your current energy strategy. You are locking Ontario into a future of expensive, US-imported gas. With 70 per cent of our gas coming from the United States, your policy is effectively exporting our energy dollars rather than investing them in Ontario workers. It is time to stop rigging the system. It is unacceptable that gas plants receive massive subsidies for connection costs while low-cost renewable projects face constant barriers. I urge you to: End the preference for US gas: Stop subsidizing gas infrastructure with ratepayer money. Unleash Ontario Renewables: Remove the red tape blocking wind and solar—currently the cheapest sources of power. Create Jobs Here: Commit to the renewable transition that will unleash a massive wave of skilled, high-paying jobs across the province. My hydro bill should not be used to prop up American gas companies. It’s time to invest in Ontario.
