Ontario’s school funding formula was built in 1997.

While students are now navigating a digital world, the provincial funding model is still running on “dial-up.” This outdated approach ignores the evolving needs of special education, mental health support, and modern classroom sizes.

The Ontario Greens believe our kids deserve a funding model built for 2026, not 1997. We are demanding:

  • A complete overhaul of the school funding formula to reflect modern classroom needs.
  • Increased investment in special education and mental health resources.
  • Funding that addresses the infrastructure repair backlog.
