Schreiner: PC MPPs have gone totally rogue with taxpayer dollars

QUEEN'S PARK — Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to Toronto-area PC MPPs billing thousands on hotel stays in Toronto.

“Doug Ford and his MPPs are out of control when it comes to spending our money on their personal private jets and hotels. 

But instead of owning up to their bad behaviour, Ford’s solution is to remove the spending category altogether.

While ordinary Ontarians are struggling to make rent, afford groceries and save for the future, Ford’s MPPs are spending tens of thousands of Ontarian’s tax dollars on hotels just kilometers from their homes. 

Meanwhile, the Premier and his staff are making more money than ever—with salaries topping $8 million for the first time in history.

From private jets to downtown suites, members of the Ford government can’t seem to stop digging into the taxpayer’s pocket to fund their luxury lifestyles.

Ontario Greens are calling on this government to get their priorities straight, stop the gravy train and start using our tax dollars to make everyday people’s lives better.“
