“Ontario’s farms, forests and wetlands are not for sale”

June 25, 2026

KITCHENER — Today, Mike Schreiner kicks off his summer leaders’ tour focused on the party’s fight against Doug Ford’s attacks on our farms, forests and water.

“For too long, this government has put profits for the rich and powerful ahead of everyday people and the places we love,” said Schreiner.

“From paving over our farmland to selling off our water to gutting conservation authorities, Doug Ford will stop at nothing to destroy the places that make Ontario home,” said Schreiner.

“But Ontario is not for sale, and Greens won’t stand by while this Premier tries to hand it over to rich investors and PC donors.

We know that when we protect nature, we’re also protecting our communities from unsafe weather. We’re protecting our $52-billion food and farming sector and the one in nine Ontarians it employs.

We’re fighting to make life easier and more affordable for everyone, whether it’s by lowering energy bills through investments in renewables or through protecting every Ontarian’s right to clean air and fresh water.

That’s why I’m spending this summer speaking with people about how we can work together to protect Ontario’s farmland and natural spaces from Doug Ford’s sell-off.

Because Ontarians deserve better than a premier that auctions off the places we love to the highest bidder. Ontarians deserve a government that cares about putting them first.”
