Statement on Yom HaShoah

QUEEN'S PARK — Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner released the following statement to mark Yom HaShoah.

“Today, we commemorate the six million Jewish lives and five million others who perished during the Holocaust.

We honour the strength and resilience of survivors and their families.

As we pay remembrance, we must also continue work to combat anti-semitism in all its forms, and to build a province – and a world – that embraces freedom, justice, diversity and peace.

It is vital that we teach present and future generations about the horrors of the Holocaust, and clearly denounce efforts to minimize or deny its horrors and their ramifications.

Greens are committed to building an Ontario rooted in tolerance, inclusivity and celebration of diversity. We reaffirm our efforts to eradicate anti-semitism and all forms of hate.
