Ontario Greens fighting for people over profits
March 19, 2026
QUEEN'S PARK — With the provincial Legislature set to return next week, MPPs Mike Schreiner and Aislinn Clancy shared their priorities for the upcoming session.
“We’ve spent the last 14 weeks talking to Ontarians about how frustrating it is to watch the richest people in the province get richer while everyone else is struggling just to get by,” said Schreiner.
“Ordinary people are worried about making rent, affording groceries or sending their kids to school while our Premier is cutting deals for the wealthy and well-connected.
He’s talking about buying airports, digging tunnels and building islands while slashing OSAP, saying no to affordable homes and gutting environmental protections.”
As MPPs return to Queen’s Park next week, Ontario Greens are focused on putting people before corporate profits to make life more affordable for everyone.
“Right now, people in my community are worried about critical water capacity issues while this government continues to let massive corporations take our water. Renters are worried about renovictions and above guideline increases. Young people are dropping out of college and university because they can no longer afford tuition,” said Clancy.
“People are feeling abandoned by a government that’s putting corporate interests above the well-being of everyday people and future generations.”
“Ontario Greens will fight for a province where homes are built for people, not wealthy, well-connected speculators. Where our water is for people and communities, not corporations. Where people can afford to send their kids to college or university. And where the places we love aren’t auctioned off to the highest bidder,” said Schreiner.
