Ford gets an “F” in housing

QUEEN'S PARK — Mike Schreiner released the following statement reacting to Missing Middle Initiative’s 2025 Provincial HOMES report card.

“Under Doug Ford, Ontario is getting an “F” in housing. That’s the lowest score in the country. 

An “F” in affordability – almost a quarter of Ontarians are living in unaffordable housing. 

And nowhere in Canada are more young people still living with their parents because they simply can’t afford to live on their own.

Average rents are sky-high and purpose-built rental starts are rock-bottom lows. 

Doug Ford is failing Ontarians because he continues to say no to building homes, no to protecting renters and no to investing in deeply affordable, non-profit, co-op and supportive housing.

Greens will continue to work to make sure that everyone in Ontario has a home they can afford close to friends, family and work.”
