Clancy: Ontario classrooms are in crisis

November 19, 2025

QUEEN'S PARK — Ontario Greens deputy leader Aislinn Clancy released this statement following the passage of Bill 33.

“Ontario classrooms are in crisis. Instead of addressing the challenges that our teachers and students are facing every day, this government is shutting out local voices. They’re  taking decision-making away from parents and students and putting it in the hands of a minister in downtown Toronto.

Education unions have told this government what Ontario schools need: more teachers and education workers. Smaller class sizes. Special education and mental health supports. And funding that reflects these needs.

It’s time for this government to listen to the people who work with kids, parents and teachers every single day. They know what’s needed to make our system stronger.

I’m calling on this government to reverse course on Bill 33, properly fund our schools and keep decision-making local and democratic.”
