The Premier is the biggest barrier to affordable housing

QUEEN'S PARK — Mike Schreiner demanded the Ford government address widespread hunger and unaffordability by taking action on the rising cost of housing.

“Millions of people are going hungry in Ontario.

There were 4.1 million food bank visits in Toronto last year alone—a shocking 340 per cent increase since 2019. 

Over half of food bank users have jobs – 35 per cent have multiple jobs, but they still can’t afford food because your government’s policies have resulted in the worst housing affordability crisis in Ontario history.

Will the premier listen to experts and crack down on above-guideline rent increases and bring back real rent control on new units so that families can afford to pay rent and put food on the table?”
