Greens announce party priorities for legislative session

October 21, 2025

QUEEN'S PARK — As the legislature returns, the Greens announced the party will focus on making life more affordable, building more homes, and creating good-paying jobs.

“This summer, we heard from people across Ontario about how challenging it has become to make ends meet because of the Ford government’s policies,” said Clancy

“Young people who feel home ownership will forever be out of reach, seniors who can no longer afford to live in places they’ve called home for decades, and parents suddenly out of work and anxious about putting food on the table.”

As MPPs return to Queen’s Park next week, Ontario Greens are focused on making life easier and more affordable by:

  • Building affordable homes in communities close to friends, family and work and addressing the root causes of homelessness with a housing-first approach;
  • Creating good-paying jobs by investing in Ontario’s renewable energy, agri-food, and home-grown tech and manufacturing sectors; and
  • Tackling the rising cost of living by fighting for fair wages, lower energy costs, better public services and cheaper, more reliable transit.

“While Conservatives are using public money to serve private interests, Greens are working to support the people of Ontario who power this province but are still struggling just to get by. “Doug Ford’s government continues to put rich insiders above everyday Ontarians. Greens will work to put people over profits and deliver on the things that will make Ontario a better, more affordable place to live.” said Schreiner.
