Preferential SDF spending a slap in the face to Ontarians

GUELPH — Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to new reports of unfair favouritism in SDF funding allocation.

“It’s a slap in the face of hardworking Ontarians to see so-called ‘skills development’ funding being used as a slush fund funneled into the pockets of wealthy Ford government friends and insiders.

So many Ontarians are worried about keeping their jobs and supporting their families, yet this government’s priorities remain focused on rewarding insiders, not supporting workers.

Almost three years after the Greenbelt scandal, it’s clear the Ford government still hasn’t learned its lesson.

Doug Ford must be held accountable for this ongoing pattern of preferential treatment. It’s time for this government to put Ontarians first, not wealthy insiders.”
