Schreiner celebrates Franco-Ontarian Day

QUEEN'S PARK — Mike Schreiner released the following statement in celebration of Franco-Ontarian Day and the 50th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag:

“I’m truly inspired by the resilience of Franco-Ontarians who have worked tirelessly to preserve and promote the rich heritage, culture, and diversity that French Ontario brings to our province and to Canada as a whole.

As someone who has taken on the challenge of learning French later in life, I’ve come to deeply appreciate the critical role that French teachers play in helping keep this cultural legacy alive. 

We need more French educators than ever, to ensure that current and future generations can continue to engage with both of our official languages.

That’s why I remain committed to working across party lines and in close partnership with Francophone communities across Ontario to protect access to services in both French and English, and to support the educators who make bilingualism a reality for so many.”
