Ontario is breaking food bank records. Where’s Doug Ford?

QUEEN'S PARK — Ontario Greens leader Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to a new report showing that more than a million Ontarians used a food bank between 2023-24.

“Food bank use is skyrocketing at an alarming rate, and still this government is more focused on getting beer into corner stores than on making life more affordable for people.

Ontario needs a government that’s actually willing to govern. That means reigning in the soaring cost of basic necessities like homes and food, and raising social assistance rates to put an end to legislated poverty.

Ontarians are in crisis mode, and this government doesn’t seem to care.”
