Finally some details on vaccines

QUEEN’S PARK — Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to the government’s vaccine rollout update:

“The government could have avoided confusion and delays in the vaccine rollout if they had delivered a plan on time.

But I’m relieved the government is finally starting to answer people’s questions about how and when they will receive a vaccine.

I’m encouraged that the government has taken the Science Table’s advice to prioritize hotspot areas.

If we want our communities to be safe, we need safe workplaces. And that means protecting our essential workers. In some PHUs, up to 70% of PSWs are unable to get vaccinated because they can’t take paid time off.

Ford must provide paid sick days and paid time off for Ontario’s workers to get vaccinated.

And the government must provide PHUs with the support and resources they need to carry out these mass vaccinations.”
