Matthew Casselman

Matthew is a lifelong resident of Ontario and Green Party member for over a decade. As an active member and supporter, he has served in numerous capacities at both the provincial and federal level.
Having joined the party at the age of eleven, he is literally a product of the evolution of Green politics in the province of Ontario. Matthew has been a door knocker, sign assembler, envelope stuffer, and telephone caller; jobs he still happily completes now. He has also been a constituency association president, campaign manager, and Party conference chair. In addition, Matthew served a term on the Green Party of Canada’s Federal Council and sat on the 2008 Election Readiness Committee and EDA advisory board.
Outside of Green politics, Matthew has also been incredibly active. A leader in student politics, Matthew served as a Student Trustee on the Upper Canada District School Board and two terms as a Director on the Wilfrid Laurier University Students Union. He was also an active participant in intercollegiate debate having represented Wilfrid Laurier four times at the World University Debating Championships. Matthew brings a wealth of experience to the Provincial Executive as a leader within numerous community organizations and advocacy groups as well as experience as a policy analyst and public servant.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP). He is currently at the University of Toronto’s School of Public Policy and Governance (SPPG) to obtain his Master of Public Policy.
