Policy Statements, Directive and Constitutional Motions
As a GPO member, this is your chance to have your say on Policy Statements that may be considered at the 2024 Convention! Between September 6th and 16th, members are encouraged to review and provide feedback on draft Policy Statements. During this comment period, you can:
- Ask questions about the draft Policy Statements
- Provide your feedback — What are the pros and cons? Do you strongly support or oppose a statement? Are there risks to any of the statements?
- Suggest possible amendments
- Sponsor draft Policy Statements that you would like to see move on to the ranking phase
Below, you’ll find links to draft Policy Statements and the Constitutional and Directive Motions
Each link below will open a google doc in a new tab on your browser. Please use comments to provide your feedback, ask questions or add your name as a sponsor (instructions can be found at the top of each google doc).
Another way to provide feedback is to join one or both of our Policy Statement Workshops on Zoom.
Register here: September 9th at 7pm and/or September 12th at 7pm
Join the dedicated session for the constitutional motion as well by registering here: September 16th at 7pm
Please remember to keep your comments and feedback respectful and constructive! Members have spent time and energy on these submissions, so consider how your feedback helps them improve.
Please note that you must be a GPO member in good standing to participate in the policy process. Interested in learning more about the GPO Policy Statement Development Process? Please visit: https://gpo.ca/convention-2024/policy-process-2024/
