Form Instructions

Please complete all sections of the application form and indicate if a section of th form is not applicable. Type responses in the appropriate fields. Incomplete applications may delay the application process or result in refusal to approve you as a nomination contestant.

Even if the application is filled out online, the last 4 pages must be printed and signed. You can scan and email to nominations@gpo.ca or fax to 416-977-5476, or mail to PO BOX 1132 Station F, Toronto, ON, M4Y 2T8. The application will not be processed without these signed pages. 

It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure a complete application is submitted to the Provincial Office of the GPO. If available, please submit your current resume with your application.

All information disclosed in the application process will be kept strictly confidential, except as required by applicable law. This document is to be used for disclosure, and any given answer does not mean that an applicant will be refused.

The Process

Anyone interested in becoming a Green Party of Ontario candidate must complete this application.

Your application will be reviewed by the Provincial Nomination Committee (PNC). The PNC will let you know if there are any follow up questions, and will advise the result of your application as soon as possible.

If your application is approved, in most cases, you will become a nomination contestant in your riding.

As a Nomination Contestant, you will participate in a nomination meeting where local members will vote by secret ballot for their choice of candidate. If you are the successful contestant at the nomination meeting, then you will become a GPO candidate for the 2018 general election.

Note that should you become a GPO candidate, you will be asked to submit a high quality electronic copy of a current photo.
