About Shane O’Brien
Shane O’Brien is a seasoned operations and logistics professional with over 15 years of experience in the transportation industry. His career demonstrates a consistent track record of success in team leadership, customer service excellence, and operational efficiency.
Shane’s career began at A & B Courier Services in Newmarket, Ontario, where he honed his skills as a Dispatcher from 2006 to 2009. In this role, he managed a fleet of owner-operator couriers and straight trucks, coordinating deliveries across Southern Ontario and organizing
special projects throughout North America. He was responsible for driver performance monitoring, communication with drivers and clients, and ensuring smooth operations. His dedication to customer service and meticulous record-keeping laid the foundation for his future leadership roles.
From 2009 to 2022, and then again briefly in 2024, Shane served as Operations Manager at A & B Courier Services. He oversaw a team of dispatchers and customer service representatives, managing a fleet of 70 owner-operator couriers. His responsibilities included recruitment, training, and scheduling, as well as collaborating with the sales team on new projects. Shane also worked closely with the IT department to improve and automate dispatch software and the mobile application, demonstrating his commitment to innovation and process improvement. His experience managing all aspects of shipping, from small parcels to full truckloads, further solidified his expertise in the field.
Between 2022 and 2024, Shane broadened his experience as Branch Manager at Alouette Bus Lines in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. He was responsible for the recruitment, training, and scheduling of drivers, managing school bus routes and charter trips. This role required him to coach and lead employees, develop departmental goals, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with regulations. His ability to resolve complaints and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external customers proved invaluable in this position.
Beyond his professional achievements, Shane has been a dedicated and supportive figure in his family life. Since 2007, he has lovingly raised two stepchildren, demonstrating his commitment to family and his capacity for caregiving.
Shane holds a Grade 12 diploma from Cardinal Carter High School in Aurora, Ontario, and possesses a Class B Z license. He is also a Certified Joint Health and Safety Committee Member. His commitment to safety and regulatory compliance is evident throughout his career.
Shane’s extensive experience, combined with his leadership skills and dedication to customer satisfaction, makes him a valuable asset in the transportation and logistics industry. He is a results-oriented professional with a proven ability to manage complex operations and lead teams effectively.
