About Nicholas Sirgool

I’m Nicholas Sirgool (he/him). A young, passionate advocate for equality and beneficial changes to our outdated systems through mentorship and inclusion. As I’ve navigated the diversity of our city in my early days, I had the privilege of getting to know a lot of different types of people, their cultures, their beliefs, and needs. That knowledge has grown with my many interactions in my local community through my volunteering and trade service.

As a working-class citizen, I’ve had the additional privilege of serving my community directly for many years which gives me a better understanding of our choices and their long-term effects. When I moved on to one of North America’s largest appliance manufacturers, I’ve had the even greater privilege of dealing with both large corporate partners, governments for policy changes, as well as direct consumers for service, quality, communications, and training. This has given me the ability to identify complex problems and implement simple but effective solutions. This has also broadened my economic knowledge and has encouraged a fight for the right repairs to our system from a communal aspect.

I’m all for finding and fixing root cause issues and sorting through all the nuances. If we don’t, I think we’ll just be patching instead of restoring, and we’ve seen enough patchwork in our communities. The time is for grassroots to have a say in these dynamics that we just can’t afford any longer. Our sustainability is equally as important as our growth
