Julia Budahazy

I was born in Montreal, Canada and I moved to Mississauga with my parents when I was 12 years old. I’ve been a resident of Lakeview in South Mississauga since 2008, where I live with my husband, our two sons and our cat.

I have a bachelor’s degree in French language and literature from UofT and a master’s degree in translation from York University. I speak 4 languages fluently (English, French, Spanish and Hungarian) and I have a diverse background, including real estate sales, teaching, translation & interpretation, marketing & PR and digital user experience strategy.

I have a passion for understanding human behaviour. My greatest joy is making connections with people and collaborating to overcome challenges together. I’m thrilled when we uncover insights and develop plans that help us reach our goals – whatever they may be!

I’m obsessed with growing plants, travelling, storytelling, understanding how things work and figuring out how we can make things (and processes) better! I also love learning and meeting new people. I’m fascinated with ethnography, languages and technology.

My parents were refugees from communist Hungary and my husband moved here from Havana, Cuba. I have a deep understanding of the refugee experience and I give back by volunteering with an organization that helps newcomers to Canada by offering one-on-one conversational English lessons.

I support the Ontario Green Party because I believe the only path forward in government is to consider the environment as the central pillar of all our decisions and offset the focus on profit to create a viable future for our children and humanity.
