About Joshua Czerniga

Josh Czerniga is an educator with over 15 years of teaching experience, primarily with the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board, and has also served with the Halton District School Board and currently with the Grand Erie District School Board.

A passionate advocate for public education, Josh has worked alongside the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association (OECTA) and the English Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO) to champion fairness for workers and ensure a strong, well-funded public education system for all students. His commitment to equity and access is further demonstrated by his work with social service agencies such as Catholic Children’s Aid and Ronald McDonald House Hamilton, where he has witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by the most vulnerable members of our community.

Josh’s deep connection to Hamilton Mountain stems from years of community involvement. He is a proud member of th LGBTQ community. He has actively served on the City of Hamilton Farmers’ Market Board of Directors and as District Warden and Deputy Grand Knight with the Hamilton Knights of Columbus. He is also fluent in both of Canada’s official languages, making him a strong advocate for inclusivity and accessibility.

“I am honoured to carry the Green Party banner for Hamilton Mountain,” said Czerniga. “This community deserves bold, innovative solutions to tackle the pressing challenges of today-whether it’s housing affordability, strengthening our public education system, or creating a wraparound approach to social services that helps everyone thrive. I’m committed to putting people first.”

As your Green Party candidate for MPP, Josh is dedicated to uniting the community around sustainable, people-focused solutions. He will fight tirelessly for affordable housing, a stronger public education system, and comprehensive social supports that ensure everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
