About Jennifer Purdy

Dr. Jennifer Purdy is a leader, a medical doctor, and a Veteran. Born in Ottawa, raised in Kanata, she lived across the country while serving 23 years in the Canadian Armed Forces. Jen lives in Kanata and keeps busy doing a little bit of clinical medicine, and running after her triplet (yup!) toddlers.

She attended the Royal Military College of Canada for her undergraduate degree, and University of Ottawa for her MD and family medicine residency. She is board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine.

Jen got involved in politics in 2019 because of the inaction on climate emergency and other important social justice issues. She is deeply concerned about people’s health and well-being, understanding that health is influenced by the affordability crisis, lack of affordable housing, cuts to education and healthcare, the worsening climate crisis, and more.  She is the Defence Critic in the Green Party of Canada Shadow Cabinet.
