About Fiona Jager

I am a Registered Nurse, and much of my career has involved working in community outreach, mental health, and addiction. This has provided me with countless opportunities to consider the benefits of providing individuals and communities with the support that they need to thrive, as opposed to treating the physical and psychological costs of social problems through expensive and short-lived health care interventions. am currently a Professor of Nursing where I teach my students that nursing involves not only “treating” patients, but advocating for the social changes that allow for health. My research examines the intersection of mental health and law. I live in Gananoque with my three children and my husband. I am interested in the wellbeing of this community and sit on the Affordable Housing Committee and the Food Forest Committee.
