About Colton Chaput

I have been a strong community leader in Nipissing for many years. In high school, I played a  big role in FIRST Robotics Team 1305 where I learned how to serve my community through various volunteer activities, fundraisers and committees. During the pandemic, I helped my  mother sew masks for the local hospital, drove a route for meals on wheels and worked at a  local pharmacy to ensure that people have access to the medications and advice they need.

I’m currently in my final year of the Nursing program at uOttawa. During my 4 years at uOttawa, I’ve been an active member of my student’s association and student union. I have held roles  which include: Director of bilingualism, VP Academic Affairs and President for the Undergraduate Nursing Student Association and the Faculty of Health Sciences student representative to the university’s Senate.

Even though I’ve had 4 amazing years in Ottawa, I’m ready to get back to my roots in Northern  Ontario! I have lived in North Bay for all of my life and absolutely love the small city vibes and  the natural beauty that we can enjoy every day. I would like to run as the candidate for the Green Party of Ontario in the Nipissing riding, to enact social change for our future and to protect the environment so that our children can continue to enjoy the natural beauty that I love  about our riding. I’m excited by the opportunity to be the Green Party of Ontario candidate for my riding to get the conversation started on real problems that the constituents face and open a  constructive dialogue to better represent our riding’s needs. I look forward to speaking to constituents!
