About Christopher
Chris is committed to addressing long-term societal challenges through technology and innovation. With experience in both government and technology, he has worked with the BC Ministry of Education on K-12 curriculum transformation and collaborated with the BC Ministry of Forests and Alberta Ministry of Natural Resources on wildfire tracking and management. Chris is a strong advocate for lifelong learning, having competed as a top 15 finalist in the Canada-wide Open Data CODE 2014 hackathon and participated in the global Water Abundance XPrize, focusing on atmospheric water extraction.
A dedicated mentor, Chris has supported Technovation, an organization promoting technology careers for young women, for five years. He is also actively involved in community initiatives, including creating community gardens and composting through vermiculture.
Chris has four children, who are Métis heritage. His kids’ Indigenous culture plays an integral role in the family’s daily lives.
