Chris Hill

Chris Hill is one of Canada’s most recognized fleet managers. He has provided fleet management  advisory services for 30 years. His career includes employment as a fleet manager for several large and diverse operations: Honeywell, Enbridge Gas Distribution, City of Toronto, City of Hamilton, the Ontario Government and most recently the City of Guelph. He recently retired from the City of Guelph Fleet  Services section where he was responsible for increasing the electric and hybrid-powered fleet to 12% of  all City vehicles at the end of 2024. 

While serving as Fleet Manager at the City of Hamilton, Chris partnered with Fleet Challenge and the  City of Toronto to hold seven Green Fleet Expo events to showcase the progress made by municipal  fleets in reducing emissions and fuel use. From 2012 to 2013 he served as CEO at Electric Mobility  Canada, an industry association that promotes electric vehicles. Chris has written more than fifty  columns in the past nine years offering thoughtful insights on fleet management for Autosphere magazine, a Canadian publication. Recent topics for the column included fleet electrification. 

Chris earned an MBA from The University of Toronto and is a Certified Management Consultant  accredited by CMC Canada. He has been a member of the Green Party of Ontario since 2007.
