Chelsey Edwards

I am a dedicated community advocate who immigrated to Canada as a child and have called Ontario home ever since. In 2018, I earned my degree in Criminal Justice and Public Policy from the University of Guelph, where I developed a deep understanding of the social and economic issues affecting our communities.

After graduating, I worked as a Program Coordinator and later as a Neighbourhood Support Worker, directly engaging with people to provide essential support. Now, as a Communications and Community Engagement Coordinator for a local poverty advocacy group in Guelph, I work every day to push for meaningful policy change and address the systemic barriers that keep people in poverty.

Growing up in poverty and experiencing it firsthand after graduation has made me a fierce advocate for strong social policies and good governance. In a country as rich as Canada, I believe we have both the resources and the responsibility to work together to end poverty and create a more just and equitable society. I am running as a Green Party of Ontario candidate to fight for bold, community-driven solutions that uplift people and protect our environment for future generations.
