About Bronwynne Wilton

Bronwynne has been serving as a Councillor for the Township of Centre Wellington since 2022. Advocating for issues such as farmland protection, intensification within existing urban boundaries, active transportation, and climate change policies have been highlights of her first years in office. As a Councillor, Bronwynne also serves as Council liaison on the Fergus Business Improvement Area (BIA) and the Groves Memorial Hospital Board. In previous volunteer roles, Bronwynne served on the Board of Directors of The Centre Wellington Community Foundation and Life Sciences Ontario. 

Bronwynne is also the President and CEO of  Wilton Consulting Group (WCG), which she established in 2017 as a fresh and innovative research and consulting team in rural economic development and in the agriculture and agri-food sectors. She brings over 25 years of experience in qualitative and interdisciplinary research methods that can be applied to a range of situations in the agriculture, agri-food and rural sectors. Bronwynne holds a PhD in Rural Studies, a Masters of Science in Rural Planning/Landscape Architecture, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. 

Bronwynne brings a passion for the social, economic, and environmental aspects of not only her own community but also for rural Ontario and small urban communities. She is trusted for her comprehensive knowledge of, and commitment to, innovative, prosperous, and sustainable agri-food systems and rural communities. Bronwynne is the lead author on multiple industry reports and is the co-editor of the book Farmland Preservation: Land for Future Generations and was one of the founding Board members of the Ontario Farmland Trust.
