About Arish Esmail

Arish Esmail graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Commerce in Global Management Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). Since then, he has been a dedicated advocate for environmental sustainability, focusing on reducing individual carbon footprints and promoting collective responsibility for the planet’s well-being.

One of Arish’s most impactful initiatives was the waste reduction program he launched at his Jamat Khana (Ismaili community congregation). Working alongside volunteers, he introduced composting and recycling practices that significantly improved waste management. As a result, garbage collection was reduced from once a week to once a month.

Arish’s environmental advocacy extends to his broader community, where he actively participates in park adoption programs. He regularly engages in park cleanups and tree planting events to ensure that local green spaces remain clean and vibrant for everyone to enjoy. These efforts not only highlight his commitment to sustainability but also inspire others to take action in preserving their environment.

Driven by a passion for sustainable development, Arish continues to work toward a cleaner, greener future. His dedication reflects his belief in the power of both individual and collective action to create meaningful, lasting change for the planet.
