Mental health care should be available for everyone.
By age 40, half of us will have had a mental illness at some point in our lives. According to the Canadian Mental Health Association, of those that reported suffering with depression almost half said they didn’t seek treatment for the condition. This troubling statistic shows what Ontarians know to be true — our healthcare system is failing us.
Ford’s cuts mean those waiting months or even years to get proper treatment through OHIP will often give up and move on. Those that cannot afford to access private mental health care may never receive the treatment they need. This is unacceptable. We need better care now.
Join us in telling Ford that mental health care is health care.
