Make Enbridge pay their fair share!

Unlike most provinces in Canada, Ontario does not allow municipalities to charge fossil fuel giants like Enbridge to run fossil gas pipes under public land.

While communities across the province are experiencing air quality concerns from toxic forest fire smoke and are struggling to make ends meet in the face of US tariffs, fossil fuel giants are making record profits. Enbridge recently reported annual profits of $5 billion – an 18% increase year-over-year.

Ontario communities are losing millions of dollars every year by giving these fossil fuel giants a free ride.

That’s why our bill, the No Free Ride for Fossil Fuels Act, would allow municipalities to charge Enbridge and other fossil gas providers for use of public land. It would force fossil fuel giants to pay their fair share and generate revenue that could be spent on building much-needed housing and making our communities climate-ready.

We need your help to amplify our call. Join us and write to Premier Ford and Minister of Energy and Mines, Stephen Lecce and tell them to support our bill to make big polluters pay their fair share.
