Bill 5 has passed.
Now hold your MPP accountable.
Doug Ford’s government has passed Bill 5 — a sweeping and dangerous law that guts environmental protections, overrides Indigenous rights, and shuts communities out of decisions about their land, water, and future.
This isn’t just bad policy. It’s a direct threat to Ontario’s democracy, ecosystems, and constitutional responsibilities.
What Bill 5 Does:
- Overrides Indigenous rights and sidestep the duty to consult
- Strips local governments of planning authority and democratic control
- Erases environmental safeguards in new “Special Economic Zones”
- Greenlights reckless development of farmland, wetlands, and natural heritage
- Weakens public oversight by sidelining the Environmental Bill of Rights
The vote is over — but the fight isn’t.
Across Ontario, people are still organizing — rallying, signing petitions, and holding their elected officials accountable.
It’s time for your MPP to take a stand.
Call Your MPP and Demand They Repeal Bill 5
Bill 5 is now law — but it’s not too late to push back. Every MPP who supported this law must hear from their constituents. Flooding their offices with calls keeps the pressure on and reminds them who they actually work for — you.
Even though Bill 5 passed, your MPP still needs to hear from you!
Communication Guide:
If they supported it, let them know you’re disappointed — and that you’ll be organizing with your neighbours this summer to push back.
If they opposed it, thank them — and ask how you can help build pressure and keep the fight going.
We’ve stopped bad laws before — and we can do it again if we stay loud, organized, and connected.
