Schreiner: Wellington Halton Hills is ready to take the power back and kill Bill 5

FERGUS — Yesterday, Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner continued his summer of resistance in Wellington Halton Hills, where residents engaged in Bill 5 resistance planning at a barnstorm event.

Last night, Wellington Halton Hills residents gathered as Mike Schreiner led them through an evening of resistance planning against Bill 5.

Schreiner addressed the group, “We need people power now more than ever to stop Doug Ford’s reckless Bill 5 power grab. Today, First Nations launched a court case against the government for their blatant violations of the constitution with Bill 5. It’s up to us to stand with First Nations and fight for their sovereignty, our democracy, and for the people and places we love. We stopped Ford when he tried to sell off the Greenbelt, and we can do it again.”

Schreiner will continue his summer of resistance, rallying more communities across the province to kill bill 5 in defense of democracy, local voices, Indigenous rights, labour laws, and environmental protections.
